Story inspiration in every Sunrise & Sunset

I truly feel blessed to live in the Texas Hill Country. Just the act of driving to work and heading home at the end of the day can be spectacular.

The colors and lighting just makes me think how wonderful it is to be part of such a grand plan.

On Vacation one of my favorite activities is watching the sunrise and set. I got this from my father. He loved the rise and fall of the sun. When I see it, it helps me feel connected to him even though he has watching from the other side for almost 19 years now. Some of my best memories are sitting on a balcony or porch and just enjoying God’s work.

I’ve been blogging all month about Laity Lodge. It was beautiful there — but I’m not sure if that’s the Texas hill country.

  I’m from the Leakey area. The HEB foundation camp is one of the most beautiful places in the Hill Country – My Husband has a nephew that works for them.

    My seatmate on my flight to San Antonio asked if I was from there.
    No, I told him.
    When he asked where I was headed, I said it was somewhere near Leakey — which I pronounced so that it rhymed with creaky.
    “You mean Lakey?” (rhymes with cake-y) he said.
    I guess so, I replied.
    I’m assuming that’s how you say Leakey with a Texas accent.

    The man that settled in the area was John Leakey (Lakey) That is how he pronounced it – Not sure where he was from – It might be German. The first vowel is silent and the second is long. Go figure.I was reading you post – Enjoying them.
